More questions for BVFD, Village from NSUARB
The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board issued two new questions to Baddeck Volunteer Fire Department (BVFD) and ten new questions to The Village of Baddeck regarding village fire hydrants, in particular, the hydrant located nearest the Inverary Resort.
The ten requests issued to the Village concerned hydrant flushing/inspection/testing, variability in annual hydrant maintenance costs, reasons firefighters could not access the hydrant located on the Inverary Resort property on June 7, whether the Village adheres to hydrant maintenances codes and standards, and design fire flows for Village fire protection system.
The two requests issued to the BVFD concerned existing fitting connections/threads on BVFD hoses and why firefighters were unable to access the hydrant located on the Inverary property.
Responses from both parties are due Oct. 5. The public has full access to correspondence between the NSUARB and the two parties.
