More ques­tions for BVFD, Vil­lage from NSUARB

The Nova Sco­tia Util­ity and Re­view Board is­sued two new ques­tions to Bad­deck Vol­un­teer Fire De­part­ment (BVFD) and ten new ques­tions to The Vil­lage of Bad­deck re­gard­ing vil­lage fire hy­drants, in par­tic­u­lar, the hy­drant lo­cated near­est the In­ver­ary Re­sort.

The ten re­quests is­sued to the Vil­lage con­cerned hy­drant flush­ing/in­spec­tion/test­ing, vari­abil­ity in an­nual hy­drant main­te­nance costs, rea­sons fire­fight­ers could not ac­cess the hy­drant lo­cated on the In­ver­ary Re­sort prop­erty on June 7, whether the Vil­lage ad­heres to hy­drant main­te­nances codes and stan­dards, and de­sign fire flows for Vil­lage fire pro­tec­tion sys­tem.

The two re­quests is­sued to the BVFD con­cerned ex­ist­ing fit­ting con­nec­tions/threads on BVFD hoses and why fire­fight­ers were un­able to ac­cess the hy­drant lo­cated on the In­ver­ary prop­erty.

Re­sponses from both par­ties are due Oct. 5. The pub­lic has full ac­cess to cor­re­spon­dence be­tween the NSUARB and the two par­ties.
