Less is Moral
Tina Knezevic’s article on the environmental threat posed by microfibres from synthetic clothing (“Dirty Laundry,” April) offers two compelling suggestions: to purchase fewer garments and to launder them less often. It strikes me that this sort of solution has a general application. Those of us who are comfortably well off would likely benefit from a more modest lifestyle— whether that means driving less, eating less meat, or buying less stuff. Gideon Forman Toronto, ON
