I never thought I would read such a self-righteous, sanctimonious, and self-serving article from a privileged baby boomer in your progressive magazine as Sharon Butala’s recent essay about the discrimination she faces because of her age (“Against Ageism,” April). I am also a baby boomer, and I will tell you what keeps me awake at night: environmental degradation, urban poverty, and societal inequality.
