“Our 52nd season is one of legends, dreamweavers and poets.”

The Walrus - - LETTERS - ALBERTA BALLET, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR JEAN GRAND-MAITRE

As an artistic director and choreographer, I’ve learned more about the ecology of societies than I ever might have imagined. At the centre of my art are the dancers. Filled with optimism and hope, they are passionate and inspired. They sacrifice much to express great beauty. But through the creative process, we connect with a larger community. Designers, musicians, patrons, donors, sponsors and funders bond together, aligned by a shared belief in the importance and value of a work of art. Art gives our existence a dignified purpose. Gathering artistic mavericks from across Canada, Alberta Ballet’s 18/19 season is so rich with ideas, contrasts and daring, it may go down in history as one of our most memorable. Join us on our exciting and inspiring journey.
