Multi-sec­tor col­lab­o­ra­tions to ex­per­i­ment with new ap­proaches and so­lu­tions to ur­ban chal­lenges. Among them, Fu­ture Cities Canada is de­vel­op­ing a stan­dard­ized ur­ban data strat­egy and frame­work that will en­able cities to iden­tify is­sues, ex­plore in­no­va­tive ideas, and cre­ate pro­to­type so­lu­tions.


Cre­ation of city-based cen­tres to im­prove ca­pac­ity for in­clu­sive in­no­va­tion. Fu­ture Cities Canada will have two brick-and-mor­tar hubs that func­tion as in­no­va­tion and train­ing cen­tres: in Toronto, at the re­de­vel­oped Kiln at Ever­green Brick Works; and in Mon­treal, at Ville D’avenir.


A plat­form for knowl­edge shar­ing, peer-to-peer learn­ing, and dia­logue, and a means to dis­sem­i­nate best prac­tices in recog­ni­tion of progress made in city build­ing around the globe.
