There’s a splashy new website aimed at luring tourists to Niagara’s Lake Erie shoreline.

Niagara South Coast Tourism Association had a soft launch of www.southcoasttourism.com about two weeks ago, said association chair Ron Bodner, a Port Colborne city councillor.

“Th is is a professional tourism website. It’s got all the bells and whistles,” he said, noting it’s also a wealth of information for local residents. “We’re still tweaking a couple of things.”

Created by the St. Catharines office of award- winning Chimpanzee, designer of websites for Town of Pelham, Niagara Wine Festival and the Henley Regatta, the “state- of- the- art” platform promotes business members and paid partnering municipalities, including Port Colborne, Wainfl eet, Pelham and Fort Erie. Welland is also represented on the website for now.

“We’re just really starting all the things a destination marketing organization can do,” Bodner said. “It’s just going to be one more piece of the puzzle to lay out tourism in Niagara.”

Niagara South Coast Tourism Association is one of four destination marketing organizations in Niagara. Th e others are Niagara Falls, Niagara- on- the- Lake and Twenty Valley.

The tourism website boasts the association’s high- end marketing video released earlier this year and it also features news, an events calendar, deals, attractions and member business profiles and links.

“It looks good, it’s got a lot of information,” said Wainfleet Mayor April Jeff s.

“It’s a good branding. It’s welcoming,” she said. “I found it really pleasing to the eye.”
