Name tags weren’t needed in victory lane Tuesday night when Merrittville Speedway hosted is second-last program of the kart racing season.

Drivers who have collected at least four checkered flags led the field across the finish line in all seven divisions.

Most familiar face of all in the winners circle was Travis Majuery, who won his track-high 14th feature, out of 17 starts, in the Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal class.

Nigel Pendykoski’s latest victory in the Vansickle Pet Valu Novice 1 division was his eighth of the year, while Donny Lampman won his seventh of the season in the Ed MacPherson Construction Junior 2 feature.

Three drivers raced to their fifth victories of year on the clay track’s inside racing surface: Cohen Corbett, Tim Phillips Garage-St. Catharines Discount Auto Parts Novice2; John Farnan Lindberg, Cassell Manufacturing Senior Fun Division; and Kyle Phillips, Superior Petro Fuels Junior Restricted.

Zach Trotter won his fourth of 2016 in the RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1 Division.

Dinner proved to be a good omen for the Phillips family, who stopped for a bite to eat on their way to the Thorold track.

“When our bill camp up, it was $21.21. I just had this feeling then that tonight was going to be our night,” Tim Phillips wrote in a Facebook post.

The number on his son Kyle’s kart is 21.
