Holiday hours in Niagara

-

On New Year’s Eve, many LCBO stores will remain open until 8 p. m. although some will close earlier, so it’s best to check with your favourite outlet. Beer Store outlets are also open Sunday. Beer and liquor stores will all be closed on Monday, Jan. 1.

Local transit services are also affected by the holiday. On New Year’s Eve, St. Catharines Transit is offered free extended service starting at 2 p. m. and running until 2 a. m., while Niagara Falls and Welland offer regular Sunday service. Municipal offices remain closed through New Year’s Day, as are a majority of retail outlets.

Garbage collection across Niagara will be delayed by one day during the new year week, with Monday collection taking place Tuesday, and so on through Saturday.

There will be no newspaper on Monday with regular delivery and office hours resuming on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
