Harper days unpleasant memory
Re: Stumbling Singh a gift for Trudeau’s Liberals, Dec. 27
This headline over the column caught my eye, but upon reading the piece I could find very little evidence of “stumbling” on Singh’s part.
I thought that the advice that he stop wearing three- piece suits and roll up his sleeves like the prime minister to be particularly ridiculous.
How does this nonsense get to be published as an editorial, I wondered. But when I checked the contributor it became clear. It was written by Andrew MacDougall, ex- director of communications to former prime minister Stephen Harper.
Now that the Harper days are a distant unpleasant memory, I think that most readers would prefer not to be reminded of them.
