‘ You guys keep me young’
Gladys Knight denies rumours of cosmetic surgery
Soul legend Gladys Knight has dismissed online gossip about her ageless looks after beauty experts suggested she had undergone a facelift before the Grammys.
The Midnight Train to Georgia singer wowed the media and celebrities alike when she showed up at music mogul Clive Davis’ annual Grammy Awards eve party last month looking 20 years younger than 73.
Rumours suggesting she’d had some work done began spreading online, and now Knight has taken to social media to insist she just looks after herself.
“I feel like I won a medal with all the compliments,” she captioned an Instagram shot of herself looking flawless. “You guys keep me young.
“Thankful for these God given genes and clean living. My activity of choices has been tennis ( sic). ( I’m) working my way up to be as good as Serena Williams and Venus Williams.”
Knight has always been active and athletic — in high school she was a top runner who almost passed on a chance to follow her music dreams with her backing band The Pips in favour of attending a track meet.
She also raved about her fourth husband, William McDowell, in the Instagram post, insisting he has “an eye for fashion” and perhaps missed his calling as a stylist, adding, “Of course I can’t do this alone, I have the best glam squad and team that keeps me looking fresh and on point. My husband William @ fortuneandmind has an eye for fashion and helps me with the majority of my looks.” WENN
