CASSOLATO, Mansueto ‘Mike’

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7) After very many courageous battles, on Saturday August 25th at the age of 86, Mansueto ‘Mike’ Cassolato was called home to live in The Father’s home, to be reunited with the love of his life Giacomina (Casucci) Cassolato,whom he pursued, chased and adored until she finally said “yes”. He will also now be celebratin­g with God and all his angels and saints, with his beloved son-in-law Italo Azzano (July 2018). Left behind to mourn his loss and celebrate his life, the incredible, kind and loving man he was, are: “his boy” Sergio Cassolato and wife Jill Cassolato, and daughter Francesca Azzano. Beloved Nonno of Luca and Alicia Azzano, Makayla, Alexa, Josh and Nicole Cassolato. Great-grandfathe­r of Tessa Cassolato. Also survived by brother-in-law Sam Mirabelli, sister-in-law Stella Casucci and sister Itala. Predecease­d by his siblings Romano (Angela), Irma, Rita, Stella, Placido, Tosca and Pasqualina, as well as in-laws Filippo (Pierina), Linda Mirabelli, Romolo Casucci and Rosina (Ottavio) DeFazio. Sadly missed and greatly loved by his Sunday lunch special family: Mary and Amato, Josephine and Pepe, Linda and Mike, and all their children and grandchild­ren. He also cherished close to his heart Clara, Nanda, Linda, Joe (Pino), Robert, Josephine, Anna, Dino, Carlo, and their spouses and children, as well as all of his nieces and nephews from the DeFazio family. He enjoyed going for coffee and breakfast with friends, especially Tony, Jim, Norman, Vince and many more, too many to mention. He was a very proud 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Hennepin Assembly 1831. We wish to thank the Knights of Columbus for all their support and the outstandin­g care he received from all the wonderful people of Hospice Niagara. HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church. Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Cassolato’s memory to Hospice Niagara or Knights of Columbus Hennepin Assembly 1831 would be appreciate­d by his family.
