GALLOWAY, Oda Holm Hansen

It is with heavy hearts but wonderful memories that the family of Oda Holm Hansen Galloway of Niagara Falls, Ontario announce her passing on January 10, 2019 in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband Thomas Edward “Ted” Galloway and her brothers Rix and Ali Hansen. Loved Mother of Mark Galloway, Niagara Falls, Carl Galloway (Sandy Howard), Carlisle, and Ada Seebach (the late Robert), Stouffville. Grandmother of Nicole Galloway, Karen Galloway (Bill Benner), Rielle Seebach, Kirstin Seebach (Brett Neil), and Alexandra Galloway. Great-Grandmother of Jackson and Brayden Benner. Oda emigrated with her family from Denmark to Canada at the age of two and was incredibly proud of her Danish heritage. She enjoyed cottaging with family and friends at Haystack Bay for over 60 years and took great delight in tending to her beloved gardens, cheering for her favourite golfers and analyzing the financial markets. Oda cherished following the lives and adventures of all her grandchildren. After graduating in 1948 from Toronto General Hospital as a Registered Nurse, Oda had a rewarding career, first nursing in remote communities in Northern Ontario and then as an emergency and intensive care nurse in Niagara. Oda enjoyed good health and independence until the end. She will be dearly missed. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations to Heart & Stroke in Oda’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
