Bruce tied for third at At­lantics

Cor­ner Brook’s An­drew Bruce shot an even-par 71 on Tues­day in round one of the ju­nior boys di­vi­sion of the Fu­ture Links At­lantic Golf Cham­pi­onship at Clare Golf and Coun­try Club in Comeauvill­e, N.S.

Calvin Ross of Fred­er­ic­ton leads the pack with an open­ing round 68, while Aubrey Far­rell of Syd­ney Forks is in sec­ond af­ter shoot­ing a 69.

Jor­dan Guenette of Mi­nesing, Ont. and Jack An­der­son of Hal­i­fax, N.S. are tied with Bruce in third.

Cor­ner Brook’s Matthew Bon­nell, mean­while, is in a three-way tie for 12th over­all af­ter fir­ing a round of 75 on Tues­day.

Daniel Bruce of Cor­ner Brook is a lit­tle fur­ther back, in a tie for 57th with three other golfers, in­clud­ing Stephenvil­le’s Ryan McNeil Lamswood. They both shot an 84.

Joseph Cluney of Cor­ner Brook was in a two-way tie for 68 af­ter card­ing a 95, and Cor­ner Brook’s Nathan Eveleigh brought up the rear with a 118 on the day.

In ju­nior girls play, Cor­ner Brook’s Tay­lor Cormier was tied for 15th af­ter open­ing day with an 88.
