Blo­mi­don’s Katie Col­bourne wins ban­tam girls crown with club­mate fin­ish­ing sec­ond

The golfers of the Tely ju­nior golf tour got their swings in at Blo­mi­don Wed­nes­day.

Matthew Bon­nell was one shot bet­ter than ev­ery­body else on The Tely Ju­nior Golf Tour Wed­nes­day at Blo­mi­don Golf and Coun­try Club.

The Blo­mi­don ju­nior, who is a mem­ber of the pro­vin­cial team head­ing to Win­nipeg for the Canada Sum­mer Games, posted a 74 round Wed­nes­day to take top hon­ours in the ju­nior boys divi­sion.

An­drew Bruce of Hum­ber Val­ley Re­sort, a Team NL team­mate of Bon­nell, fin­ished in sec­ond spot, one stroke be­hind with a 75 round un­der a bright sky Wed­nes­day.

Katie Col­bourne of Cor­ner Brook won top hon­ours in the nine-hole ban­tam girls divi­sion with a 53 score, while fel­low Blo­mi­don golfer Paige Allen nailed down sec­ond spot with a fi­nal score of 57.
