Man­age­ment changes made at Cor­ner Brook City Hall

COR­NER BROOK — The City of Cor­ner Brook has made some changes in the or­ga­ni­za­tional struc­ture at city hall. Dar­ren Char­ters, who has over 20 years of ex­pe­ri­ence work­ing in a mu­nic­i­pal en­vi­ron­ment in Fred­er­ic­ton, N. B., has been ap­pointed to the po­si­tion of Di­rec­tor of Com­mu­nity, En­gi­neer­ing, De­vel­op­ment and Plan­ning. City man­ager Melissa Wik­lund, in a press re­leased is­sued by the City of Cor­ner Brook, an­nounced a num­ber of ap­point­ments Fri­day morn­ing.

Char­ters, who has a Bach­e­lor of Science in civil en­gi­neer­ing and a diploma in civil en­gi­neer­ing, will as­sume his new role ef­fec­tive Sept. 5 of this year. Mean­while, Wik­lund an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Don­ald Bur­den to the po­si­tion of Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Works, Wa­ter and Waste­water, which is ef­fec­tive im­me­di­ately, and Steve Col­bourne, who held the po­si­tion of Man­ager of Hu­man Re­sources, has been ap­pointed to the newly-cre­ated pos­tion of Man­ager of Cor­po­rate Projects.

The po­si­tion of Man­ager of Hu­man Re­sources will be ad­ver­tised and a se­lec­tion process will con­sider both in­ter­nal and ex­ter­nal can­di­dates, ac­cord­ing to the press re­lease. The re­lease stated that Col­bourne will re­main in his cur­rent role as man­ager un­til a suc­ces­sor is ap­pointed.
