Management changes made at Corner Brook City Hall
CORNER BROOK — The City of Corner Brook has made some changes in the organizational structure at city hall. Darren Charters, who has over 20 years of experience working in a municipal environment in Fredericton, N. B., has been appointed to the position of Director of Community, Engineering, Development and Planning. City manager Melissa Wiklund, in a press released issued by the City of Corner Brook, announced a number of appointments Friday morning.
Charters, who has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and a diploma in civil engineering, will assume his new role effective Sept. 5 of this year. Meanwhile, Wiklund announced the appointment of Donald Burden to the position of Director of Public Works, Water and Wastewater, which is effective immediately, and Steve Colbourne, who held the position of Manager of Human Resources, has been appointed to the newly-created postion of Manager of Corporate Projects.
The position of Manager of Human Resources will be advertised and a selection process will consider both internal and external candidates, according to the press release. The release stated that Colbourne will remain in his current role as manager until a successor is appointed.
