An­other theft charge for man ac­cused of mug­ging el­derly woman

A young man charged Mon­day with mug­ging an el­derly woman was back in court Tues­day morn­ing, where he was given a new charge.

Bradley Steiner, 21, was charged with steal­ing from an­other woman in St. John’s on July 24. The de­tails of the al­leged theft have not yet been read into the court record.

Steiner was ar­rested Sun­day af­ter­noon af­ter po­lice were called to a re­ported mug­ging out­side the Dol­larama store on Kelsey Drive around 12:30 p.m. Steiner had al­legedly pushed an el­derly woman to the ground and grabbed her purse be­fore running away. Of­fi­cers lo­cated him shortly af­ter­ward, with the help of a po­lice dog, and took him into cus­tody.

Steiner will re­main in cus­tody un­til his next court date, Aug. 15, when both charges will be dealt with.
