Re­call of Dole brand baby spinach in N.L.

Dole brand Baby Spinach with Ten­der Reds has been re­called due to pos­si­ble Lis­te­ria mono­cy­to­genes con­tam­i­na­tion.

The prod­uct has been re­moved from shelves in New­found­land and Labrador, Prince Ed­ward Is­land, New Brunswick, Nova Sco­tia and On­tario.

Ac­cord­ing to Health Canada, the re­call was trig­gered by an in­ves­ti­ga­tion by the Cana­dian Food In­spec­tion Agency (CFIA).

The prod­uct was sold in 142 gram pack­ages with a best be­fore date of Aug. 4, 2018.

To date, no ill­nesses have been re­ported in con­nec­tion with con­sum­ing the prod­uct.

Symp­toms of Lis­te­ria mono­cy­to­genes can in­clude vom­it­ing, nau­sea, per­sis­tent fever, mus­cle aches, se­vere headache and neck stiff­ness.
