Shed­ding some light on saved fund­ing

The City of Cor­ner Brook has found an ex­tra $100,000 to put to­wards a traf­fic sig­nal study and up­grades.

The city had funded three projects un­der the Small Com­mu­nity Fund. Two of those projects, re­build­ing section of River­side Drive and some street resur­fac­ing, have been com­pleted and have come in around $100,000 un­der bud­get. The city had al­ready al­lo­cated $140,000 for the traf­fic lights study and sub­se­quent up­grad­ing and will now add the re­main­ing $100,000 for a to­tal of $240,000 to study and im­ple­ment traf­fic light im­prove­ments.
