Katie Col­bourne lead­ing the pack at Blo­mi­don ju­nior golf cham­pi­onship

Two fe­male golfers at Blo­mi­don are mak­ing it an in­ter­est­ing race for the club cham­pi­onship in the ban­tam girls di­vi­sion.

Katie Col­bourne carded a 46 round Thurs­day on Day 1 of the Blo­mi­don Golf and Coun­try Club ju­nior club cham­pi­onships at the Cor­ner Brook golf course.

Paige Allen, a fre­quent win­ner on the 2018 Tely Ju­nior Golf Tour this sum­mer, holds down sec­ond spot in the ban­tam girls’ di­vi­sion, two strokes be­hind af­ter fir­ing a 48 Thurs­day morn­ing at Blo­mi­don.

Ryan Lom­bard has a twostroke lead over Daniel Sharpe in the ban­tam boys’ di­vi­sion af­ter he reg­is­tered a 49 round on Day 1, while Grant Ware­ham is still in the hunt four strokes be­hind the leader af­ter card­ing a 53 score.

A num­ber of play­ers are in the run­ning for top hon­ours in the ju­ve­nile boys di­vi­sion with Ryan Mercer on top af­ter one round with a 48 score, while Alex Pye and Gabe Bug­den are cer­tainly in strik­ing dis­tance af­ter both had 50 scores on Thurs­day.
