Stam­ped­ers de­fen­sive coach Clay­brooks out of hospi­tal

Cal­gary Stam­ped­ers de­fen­sive co-or­di­na­tor DeVone Clay­brooks has been re­leased from hospi­tal af­ter more than a week’s ab­sence from the team. Clay­brooks was un­der­go­ing some tests, ac­cord­ing to Stam­ped­ers head coach Dave Dick­en­son, who said Wed­nes­day that Clay­brooks “is out of the hospi­tal.”

Clay­brooks wasn’t on the side­lines for Cal­gary’s 39-26 win over the Win­nipeg Blue Bombers on Satur­day. The 40-year-old is in his third sea­son as Cal­gary’s de­fen­sive co-or­di­na­tor and sev­enth on the team’s coach­ing staff.

He was a de­fen­sive line­man in the CFL for five sea­sons, with his last three in Cal­gary.
