Anna Bedo, a Grade 6 stu­dent in Stephenvil­le who was in Sandy Ab­bott’s Grade 4 class that did a project on Al Han­cock’s ex­ploits as a moun­taineer and his con­nec­tion to Stephenvil­le, lis­tens in as Han­cock ad­dresses a group of about 120 peo­ple dur­ing his in­spi­ra­tional pre­sen­ta­tion “What’s Your Ever­est?” at the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion, Branch 35 on Thurs­day evening. Han­cock, a premier moun­taineer who climbed seven moun­tains of more than 8,000 me­tres in height, told those in at­ten­dance, not to let oth­ers tell you what you can’t do and goals are at­tain­able if you want them to be. Stu­dents had lots of ques­tions for Han­cock re­lat­ing to his moun­tain climb­ing ex­ploits, which in­clude climb­ing Ever­est and K2, and he took the time to an­swer all of them.
