The Western Star would like to clarify some information about the next new penstock to be installed at Deer Lake Power. Since the publication of a photo showing sections of fibreglass penstock being staged in Deer Lake last week, Corner Brook Pulp and Paper has confirmed that the No. 9 penstock won’t be replaced until 2020. The sections are being shipped and will be stored on location at Deer Lake Power until the work begins next year. In previous years, since the penstock replacement project began in 2014, the pipelines were replaced once the sections had arrived.
