Rangers, Mus­tangs all tied up

On the eve of the open­ing of the 2018 World Cup, the Northridge Curl­ing Rangers and Ford Mus­tangs fought to a 1-1 draw Wed­nes­day on a chilly spring night that felt like fall at Welling­ton Street Sports Com­plex.

Nei­ther Cor­ner Brook Mol­son Se­nior Men’s Soc­cer League club could find the back of the net through 71 min­utes, un­til Daniel Whit­ten fi­nally hit pay dirt in the 72nd to put the Mus­tangs in a great po­si­tion to walk away with the win.

It wasn’t to be, how­ever, as Matt Nose­wor­thy struck in the 85th to knot the game for­ever at one apiece. In other re­cent ac­tion, Pat Fewer and Cory Mosher both had two-goal games to lead the West Side Monar­chs to a 4-2 vic­tory over the Mas­ters.

Cameron Locke scored twice for the Mas­ters in the los­ing cause.
