The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s (RNC) major crime unit is investigating the suspicious death of a 45-year-old woman in St. John’s. On Wednesday at about 10:40 p.m., police and paramedics were called to a unit in an apartment building on Bay Bulls Road to a report of a sudden death.
The woman was pronounced deceased on arrival by paramedics. Investigators with the RNC major crime unit believe the circumstances around this death are suspicious in nature and are working with the office of the chief medical examiner to determine the cause of death. Police secured the area in which the death occurred pending the medical examiner’s report. Investigators have been in the area throughout the day canvassing and speaking with neighbours.
