ANOTHER COLLISION AT ELMIRA INTERSECTI­ON

2:30 PM | Perth County OPP charged a 19-year-old Kitchener woman in relation to a head-on crash that took place on Line 86 east of Listowel. She was driving a Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on Perth Line 86 when she attempted to make a pass. The driver entered into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a westbound Toyota Matrix. The 68-year-old male driver of the Toyota Matrix and a 69-year-old female passenger, both from Wellington North, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatenin­g injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries, and was subsequent­ly charged with ‘careless driving.’ She has a court appearance scheduled for Provincial Offences Act court in Stratford on September 5.

AUGUST 14

6:47 AM | A motorist was pulled over at Arthur Street and Listowel Road in Elmira for driving under suspension, also receiving a ticket for a validation violation. 7:56 AM | Waterloo Regional Police received a report of a breakand-enter involving trailers on a work site on Katherine Street South near Winterbour­ne. Sometime between August 12 at 6 p.m. and the time of the report, two trailers were entered by suspects who cut off the locks. The trailers contained tools being used at the homebuildi­ng site. 3:47 PM | Police responded to collision between two vehicles travelling on Line 86 in Wellesley Township. There were no injuries. 4:32 PM | The Dollarama store near the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market reported a shopliftin­g incident involving the theft of chocolate bars.
