10:16 AM | Some­time in the pre­vi­ous week, a con­struc­tion trailer was bro­ken into on Dunke Street North in Elmira. Var­i­ous tools were stolen. Any­one who may have seen any­thing sus­pi­cious in the area of Dunke Street dur­ing that time­frame is asked to con­tact the Water­loo Re­gional Po­lice Ru­ral De­tach­ment at 519-570-9777, ext. 4320 or Crime Stop­pers at 1-800222-TIPS(8477).

1:12 PM | Welling­ton County OPP along with Maple­ton Fire/ Res­cue and Guelph-Welling­ton Para­medic Ser­vices re­sponded to a col­li­sion at the in­ter­sec­tion of Welling­ton Road 7 and Welling­ton Road 12. Ini­tial re­ports in­di­cated that a north­bound sedan trav­el­ling on Welling­ton Road 7 col­lided with a trans­port truck that en­tered the in­ter­sec­tion while trav­el­ling west­bound on Welling­ton Road 12. The three oc­cu­pants of the sedan – a 52-year-old fe­male driver, 29-year-old fe­male and a 1-year-old male pas­sen­ger, all of Palmer­ston – were trans­ported to a lo­cal hos­pi­tal to be treated for their in­juries. The driver has sub­se­quently been trans­ferred to a trauma cen­tre in life-threat­en­ing con­di­tion. The driver of the trac­tor trailer was un­in­jured.
