Merry Christmas? Bah, humbug!

-

To the Editor, AT CHRISTMAS FOR YEARS, it has been my “thing” to never pass a Salvation Army kettle without making a donation, no matter how small.

On Saturday, I was waiting for my husband in the car while he was in the liquor store at the corner of Northfield and King streets in Waterloo. The Salvation Army volunteer with her kettle was just inside the door and I was appalled at the number of people who completely ignored the volunteer although they had to walk past her with their carts, bags, and boxes of booze.

They had money to purchase Christmas spirits but certainly did not have the true spirit of Christmas, which is giving to others. Shame on you! ANNETTE KUHN | ST CLEMENTS
