EA study for new Breslau road

-

Its settlement plan for Breslau including a new road to connect Fountain Street to a new phase of the Thomasfield Homes subdivision, Woolwich this week awarded a contract to carry out an environmental assessment on what it calls the “Breslau east connector road.”

Associated Engineering (Ont.) Ltd. is to carry out the work at a cost of $342,000, councillors decided Tuesday night.

The study area roughly encompasses parts of Breslau between Woolwich Street South to the west, the Metrolinx railway tracks to the north, Wurster Place to the east, and Menno Street to the south.

When built, the road would provide access to a new mixed-use neighbourhood known as the Thomasfield Homes Hopewell Crossing, which includes residential and commercial development, employment lands, parks/open space and a proposed new Breslau GO station.
