Ceildh Night to benefit Habitat for Humanity

-

The Wellesley and District Lions Club will be continuing their annual tradition of a Ceilidh Night on January 19. All the proceeds raised from the event will benefit the Wellesley Project of Habitat for Humanity.

Formation of the event began four years ago when the Lions club was looking for a way to bring the community together in the dead of winter months, when people may not see each other as often.

The local Celtic band, Failte, are headlining the event once again, and have since the very first Ceilidh. In addition, there are Scottish-themed snacks and drinks, as well as a dance floor with a family-friendly atmosphere.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. within the community centre at 1000 Maple Leaf St. Wellesley. The band is scheduled to play 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the bar is open until 11 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $5 in person at Pym’s Village Market, off any Lions club member, or on Eventbrite. Kids under 5 can get in the event for free.
