Cheese volcano

Thornhill Post - - Food -

With the holiday season upon us, there’s no shortage of ways to blow one’s diet. One of our favourites is the newly opened Chicken in the Kitchen (5600 Yonge St.). This restaurant comes to us by way of Korea, the land that’s elevated crispy fried chicken to an art form. Lauded by popular Korean TV show Food X File, Chicken in the Kitchen is beloved in its home country. So cluck on down to the first Canadian location. You could just grab a piece or two, or you could go all out and blow your calorie budget on their pièce de résistance, the cheese volcano chicken platter. The decadent fromage-filled feast involves a bread bowl filled with melted gouda and Parmesan, surrounded by a flock of fried chicken pieces, potato wedges and Korean rice cakes for good measure.

SECRET RECIPEIt’s hush-hush, but we know the marinade has ginseng and raspberries.
