FA­TAL FLAWS: Two show­ings of Fa­tal Flaws - Le­gal­iz­ing As­sisted Death, a film by Kevin Dunn, at the Fa­ther Lan­gan Par­ish Cen­tre in Room 5, 51 Veni­son Street West (Rolph Street). Tues­day, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Wed­nes­day, Dec. 5 at 10:45 a.m. What are the long-term ef­fects of these laws on so­ci­ety? Should we be giv­ing med­i­cal pro­fes­sion­als the le­gal right to end their pa­tients’ lives?

PORT BURWELL CRAFT AND BAkE SALE: Port Burwell Le­gion is hav­ing a Craft and Bake Sale on Satur­day Dec. 8, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. All types of lo­cal crafts. Bake Ta­ble and Straw Draw. Food avail­able. Ad­mis­sion free, but a do­na­tion of a canned good would be ap­pre­ci­ated for the lo­cal food bank. BREAk­FAST WITH SANTA: Till­son­burg Kinette’s an­nual Break­fast With Santa is Satur­day, Dec. 8, 8-11 a.m. at the Till­son­burg Com­mu­nity Cen­tre Li­ons Au­di­to­rium. Cost is $5 (2 pan­cakes, 2 sausages, juice and cof­fee). Santa Claus will there for a photo op and give out candy canes. We will have a fun photo booth (free). There is also a free colour­ing con­test with prizes for dif­fer­ent ages groups.

mESSY CHURCH: St. Paul’s United Church, 88 Bid­well St., Till­son­burg. 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Our theme is ‘It is bet­ter to give...’ Come and make gifts. Crafts in­clude a gift wrap­ping cen­tre. Hot lunch to fol­low. No charge. All wel­come. Chil­dren must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult.


ST. PAUL’S CAN­TATA: Sun­day, Dec. 16, at 10:30 a.m., St. Paul’s United Church, 88 Bid­well, presents the can­tata 2,000 De­cem­bers Ago. At 2:30 p.m., David Ramer will sing some of his favourites and the choir will again per­form the can­tata. Mu­si­cal di­rec­tor and ac­com­pa­nist is Shel­ley Ver­meer­sch. Freewill do­na­tions would be ap­pre­ci­ated.

AN EvENING WITH CHARLES DICk­ENS: There’s noth­ing like a ‘Carol Sing’ and the Dick­ens clas­sic ‘A Christ­mas Carol’ to put one in the Hol­i­day Spirit. Ex­pe­ri­ence an old world Christ­mas at St. John’s Angli­can Church, Till­son­burg, on Sun­day, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. En­joy carol singing in the church led by St. John’s Choir; then lis­ten to a read­ing of ‘A Christ­mas Carol’, with Stephen Bourne as Charles Dick­ens. Fol­low­ing the read­ing, en­joy Yule­tide treats in the par­ish hall. Tick­ets $10 per per­son or $25 for a fam­ily of three or more, avail­able at Cow­ard Phar­macy, 165 Broad­way or at St. John’s Church of­fice (519-842-5573). Pro­ceeds will go to those in need of toys and food at Christ­mas.


TURkEY DIN­NER: Wimpys Diner is spread­ing Christ­mas Cheer! Join us Mon­day, Dec. 17 for a FREE Turkey din­ner buf­fet style. The din­ner will take place from 4-6 p.m or as long as quan­tity lasts. First come first serve, we hope to see you there!
