Worker suffers serious injury

WorkSafe B.C. is looking into an incident Friday afternoon in which a man fell from the roof he was working on and suffered a serious head injury. The 39-year-old remains in intensive care. Police were joined by the Victoria Fire Department and ambulance crews in responding to the incident at a Fairfield residence, said Victoria police Sgt. Grant Hamilton. He said the situation was made more difficult because the man’s 16-year-old daughter happened to be there, likely waiting for her father to finish work, and saw him fall. “The [man] was working for a roofing company and it appears he was not using the proper safety equipment,” Hamilton said.
