End the mania for golf courses

What’s this golf obsession? I’d be pleased if The Cliffs Over Maple Bay development is halted.

Homeowners are told to conserve water and to water their plants only on specified days, while golf courses suck up huge amounts of water.

The runoff of fertilizers needed to keep those greens green further pollutes and compromises water supplies.

Golf courses destroy habitat for animals.

Golf courses and their associated developments wreck naturescapes that could be enjoyed by humans with much less interference in the ecology of the area. Diane McNally Victoria
