Leave the legislatur­e murals alone


The coverup of the murals in the legislatur­e is abuse.

These paintings are artistic depictions of a past, more mythical than historical­ly correct.

Art isn’t supposed to be politicall­y or historical­ly correct, except under a Fascist or Communist regime (and look at the dismal stuff that has come from that).

I always found the paintings esthetical­ly pleasing, the female figures graceful, as in much Hawaiian art. Leave them alone. We seem to be in an era of much coverup in more than one sense. Jean Creese Victoria
