Terminal could celebrate B.C. First Nations

-

Hearing about the cancellation of a plan for additional totem poles around the legislature was sad news and a disrespectful gesture towards aboriginal people. It would have been so nice to see fresh native energy celebrated.

We all understand how important native people are and how we need to heartily welcome the first people of British Columbia. The proposal to turn the CPR Steamship Terminal building into the First Peoples Centre needs to be championed.

This building is so important. To turn it into more souvenir shops would be such a waste. Its fate should be decided by all British Columbians in a provincewide plebiscite on its use. Gilbert Zaversenuke Victoria
