Arrest made in suspicious death

NANAIMO — Nanaimo RCMP have arrested a 22-year-old man in relation to the suspicious death of a 52-year-old Nanaimo resident on Friday.

The suspect was arrested just before 5 p.m. on Friday and remains in custody.

Police were called to a unit at the Ocean Bay complex on Haliburton Street about 7 a.m. on Friday, where the dead 52-year-old was found.

The Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Unit is leading the investigat­ion. The B.C. Coroner’s Service will conduct an autopsy this week.
