The James Bay Market Society promotes community through local commerce and entertainm­ent. Seedy Saturday is the annual community spring seed and garden show featuring organic and open-pollinated (not GMO) seeds, available from small growers. It focuses on preserving seed diversity for gardeners, preserving food security and protecting our environmen­t with sustainabl­e gardening practices. Seedy Saturdays include garden talks, seed sales and exchanges, displays, gardening books and kids’ activities. Seedy Saturdays is looking for an on-site supervisor to work with a team at the Feb. 21 event. Supervisor­s direct other volunteers, set up signs and provide directions to the public.
