COUNTRY

What: Fort McMurray Fundraiser featuring the Tumblin’ Dice, the County Line and Backstage Whiskey Where: Discovery Street When: Tonight at 7 Admission: By donation Why: The Duke Saloon (502 Discovery St.) announced last week its plan to host a Fort McMurray fundraiser tonight, with proceeds, tips and bar sales going to those displaced by fires that raged through the Alberta community. Organizers of the event did one better by announcing a cityapproved street closure for Discovery Street, so those who can’t enter the drinking establishment for sets by the County Line and Backstage Whiskey still have the opportunity to contribute — and hear some good ol’ country music in the process.. Local favourites the Tumblin’ Dice will take to the outdoor stage at 7 p.m. Donations are being accepted. All ages are welcome. — Mike Devlin

The concert raises funds for Our Place Society. — Adrian Chamberlain
