No one wants to live across from a slum

Re: “Tent city taps into drinking water, will get flush toilets,” May 14.

Maybe the Mad as Hell neighbours of the tent city could do a house swap with the judges and government officials who don’t seem to see a problem with squatters taking over the area.

No matter how much sympathy we might have for the plight of the homeless, not many of us would want to have the tent city (a euphemism for slum) across the street. Eleanor Montour Duncan
