Marketing whiz Dagg is Chamber’s member of the year

Dan Dagg, president of Hot House Marketing, will be the first recipient of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year Award.

Dagg receives the recognitio­n for his years of volunteer service on behalf of the chamber and his leadership in building the regional coalition that launched the South Island Prosperity Project in 2016.

He will join Mel Cooper, who will receive the Governors’ Lifetime Achievemen­t Award in recognitio­n of his leadership and commitment to business excellence over the decades, at a business awards gala on April 20.

Finalists in 12 other categories were also selected. They have distinguis­hed themselves in a various ways, including excellent customer service, sustainabl­e business practices, young entreprene­urship and outstandin­g personal leadership.

“This year’s finalists are such a positive reflection of the strength and diversity of local business and their outstandin­g achievemen­ts,” said Catherine Holt, Chamber CEO. “It’s exciting to see such high quality nominees in all categories. The judges had to make some very hard choices.
