B.C. Liberal bribes vs. NDP policy
Re: “B.C. budget cuts 2M MSP premiums in half,” Feb. 22. Let’s hope the electorate understands that the B.C. Liberal budget is “bribes,” whereas the similar budget priorities of the NDP are “policy.”
Policy is how things run on a day-to-day, year-by-year basis. Bribes happen just before the election. If the B.C. Liberals think the NDP would be bad for B.C., how come they are lifting planks from the NDP platform?
Upgrading and improving public buildings and infrastructure is also NDP policy. It will provide long-term benefits without dire environmental and economic consequences in the future. A big construction project on the Peace River — the Site C dam — will only provide short-term jobs and, by some estimates, fewer than 30 permanent jobs. Heather Phillips Sooke
