Enjoy Much [Less] Ado in the dance hall at the castle
Enjoy a re-imagining of one of William Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies with the latest installment of Bard in the Ballroom: Much (Less) Ado About Nothing, today to Saturday at Craigdarroch Castle.
The play, based on the Bard’s Much Ado About Nothing, is a fast-paced farce, adapted and updated to a witty hour-and-ahalf of enjoyment by the Launch Pad Theatre Company.
“Launch Pad Theatre Company continues to delight our visitors with their brand of original theatre and we are thrilled to welcome them back to Craigdarroch Castle,” said John Hughes, executive director of Craigdarroch Castle., in a statement.
“We anticipate another soldout run for this second season of Bard in the Ballroom.”
Performers include David Radford, Christina Patterson, Monica Ogden, Christine Upright, Cam Culham, Jared Gowen, Graham Croft, Michael Bell, with the foley art of Emma Dickerson and costumes by Martha Burd.
Guests are encouraged to attend in their snazziest cocktail attire (but no stilettos please) to enjoy an evening of entertainment, along with a complimentary glass of bubbly.
Be aware that the performance is held in the castle’s dance hall, located on the fourth floor (there are 87 steps and no elevator).
Tickets are $35 with a glass of bubbly, $28 without alcohol.
The first act starts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, March 30 to April 1, and April 6 to 8 at the castle, 1050 Joan Cres.
