Spring into something new

LADIES NIGHT, WALKING GROUPS, AGELESS LOVE AND MORE

- BY TRACY RYAN, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SILVER THREADS SERVICE

It’s been a long winter with too much snow, too much rain and too many gloomy days. Now, with a bit more daylight and warmer weather on our doorsteps, we hope you feel the optimism that spring can bring.

It’s also time to renew your Silver Threads membership. Membership has grown significantly over the past year and we appreciate your support and involvement. If you aren’t a member yet, please stop by for a tour; we would be happy to show you around.

A few events at Silver Threads – in keeping with the theme of renewal – Ladies Night! On Thursday, May 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Victoria Centre, we will host an event for women only – to get together for fun and friendship. Enjoy refreshments during happy hour, watch make-up demos, and join in on the accessory exchange. There will be good conversations and laughter. $5.25 Members $7.35 Non-Members, pre-registration required.

If you would like to get out into the great outdoors and see the arrival of spring yourself, join one of our Walking Groups. There is safety in numbers and our leaders will take you along some local trails. The group meets on Mondays at 10 a.m. at the Victoria Centre and Wednesdays at 10 at the Saanich Centre.

Our Ageless Love Series continues for those who are thinking about entering the dating world. The next monthly Mix and Mingle will be held on Thursday, May 18 from 4 to 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, May 23 join Jennifer from EGurus for an Online Dating session. Call the Victoria Centre for more details.

Silver Threads operate two centres – the Saanich Centre is located at 286 Hampton Road (250382-3151), and the Victoria Centre, located at 2340 Richmond Road (250-388-4268). Your membership is good for both branches!

It’s definitely spring – and it’s time to jump into something new!
