These opportunities and more are available at Volunteer Victoria: 250-386-2269 or volunteervictoria.bc.ca Queen Alexandra iCan Bike Camp: Volunteers are needed who are at least 16 years of age and eager to assist a child or youth with special needs learn to ride a two-wheeled bike (check out the camp at icanshine.org). Volunteers must be physically fit enough to walk, jog and run beside riders on the bike for most of the 75-minute sessions. They must be able to attend half days for all of the five days of the camp for either morning or afternoon shifts. The camp will be held at Oak Bay High School July 10-14. ArtsREACH: Is looking for volunteers for a minimum two-hour shift on Sunday, June 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 7321 Lochside Drive. We are looking for volunteers to participate with us in the Pride Parade on Sunday, July 9. No specific requirements are needed — just an interest in supporting a great cause. Also, we have an opportunity for you to watch Victoria HarbourCats baseball games for free. We need volunteers on Friday, July 7, Saturday, July 8, and Tuesday, July 11 from 6 p.m. until the end of the game to give flyers to inform people about Anawim services. Shifts are for three hours Monday, Wednesday or Thursday. Training is provided and a criminal record check is required. Shifts are approximately three hours per week. If you work well with visitors and co-workers, have a desire to learn about the museum and are physically able to perform duties as required, including lifting coats and small backpacks, we would like to hear from you. Training about the museum and about providing excellent service to our visitors is provided. Volunteer opportunities are also available in the Royal Museum Gift Shop. Here you will meet visitors from all over the world. Volunteers must be friendly and outgoing, and enjoy working with the public in a busy environment. Most gift shop shifts are on weekends. Training about the product and customer service is provided. Does not involve cash handling.
