Our Union has a legacy of building some of the most important infrastructure projects in this province, including dams which helped establish British Columbia’s source of renewable electricity, and the pipelines that move energy safely and efficiently protecting Canada’s place as an energy producing nation. Together, our members continue building this legacy as they construct major projects in our province. British Columbians depend on the work of Local 115 members in their day-to-day lives.

We are the aerial firefighters who keep our communities safe, the operators who move solid waste, the technicians that maintain and build heavy equipment, the hydraulic dredgers that ensure safe passage on our waterways, and the utility crews that install pipes to provide your home with clean drinking water. We construct the roads, bridges, and highways that keep our economy moving. IUOE members help build the projects that define our skylines and the ports that bring in goods and transport our resources to the world.

In our over 85 years, we’ve helped build the working class in BC. We celebrate every member that we’ve earned, every project that we’ve completed, and every challenge that we’ve overcome.

Since 1931, much has changed, however the need for Union representation remains constant. IUOE Local 115’s commitment to training BC’s skilled workers and improving working conditions and workers’ rights has never wavered and never will.

This Labour Day, we thank our Local 115 members and all of BC’s working men and women who have built and continue to build our province.
