Learn about C3 scientific voyage at Wonder Sunday

-

The Royal B.C. Museum resumes its Wonder Sunday family series this week, and the focus is on the Canada C3 voyage, a 150-day scientific journey from Toronto to Victoria via the Northwest Passage. Follow the ship in real time at canadac3.ca.

On Sunday, visitors can explore scientific findings from the C3 ship. As a bonus, two Royal B.C. Museum curators, Dr. Joel Gibson and Dr. Henry Choong, will be aboard the C3 vessel during the month. The program repeats Oct. 8, 15 and 22.

The last Wonder Sunday of the month, on Oct. 31, is dedicated to Halloween, a perennial (and spooky) favourite for families.

On Wednesday, bring a sandwich to Prohibition in British Columbia: How the Prohibitionists Won the Battle but Lost the War, a Live at Lunch presentation.

Archivist Frederike Verspoor will tell stories of fraud, duplicity and corruption.

All Wonder Sunday events are included with museum admission or membership. The Live at Lunch event is by donation.

The end of the month marks the end of the museum’s Family: Bonds and Belonging feature exhibition.

Regular admission to the museum applies. The Wonder Sunday program runs 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays at the museum, 675 Belleville St.

The museum switches to winter hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Sunday) Oct. 7.
