Griffin’s house goes for $1M under original asking price
LOS ANGELES — Actor and comedian Kathy Griffin has finally sold her house in Hollywood Hills, for $4.492 million US. That’s about $1 million shy of her asking price when she put the gated property up for sale last year.
Set up from the street on a knoll, the 2003-built house has wraparound terraces on two levels for taking in canyon and city views. Features of the five-bedroom, six-bathroom house include reflecting pools in the foyer, terrazzo marble floors and contemporary chandeliers. The updated kitchen, outfitted with stainlesssteel appliances and two islands, opens to the dining room. There are six fireplaces within nearly 8,100 square feet of interiors.
Outside, the walled setting includes a saltwater swimming pool and spa, an aquarium and a cabana. A covered dining area holds another fireplace.
Griffin, who bought the home more than a decade ago for $2.85 million, won two Emmys for her reality series Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. Last year, she appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race as a guest judge and hosted the E! Series Fashion Police.
Griffin, 57, generated controversy this year when she appeared in a photo holding a fake severed and bloody head resembling that of U.S. President Donald Trump. She apologized for the image, then later retracted her apology.
Griffin lives in a 13,400-squarefoot mansion in Bel-Air that she bought for $10.85 million last year.
