Fleetwood Mac has tour dates after Buckingham exit

-

Fleetwood Mac is hitting the road again, minus one key member.

The band revealed the dates for a 50-plus city North American tour this week, following the news this month that frontman Lindsay Buckingham would be parting ways with the group, and would not be joining their tour.

In Buckingham’s place, Neil Finn of Crowded House and Mike Campbell of Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers will join Fleetwood Mac members Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Christine McVie.

The tour includes a concert at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Nov. 14.

In an interview with Rolling Stone about the band’s lineup changes, Fleetwood disputed the idea that Buckingham was fired from the group, though he said the decision was contentious.

“Words like ‘fired’ are ugly references as far as I’m concerned,” he said.

“Not to hedge around, but we arrived at the impasse of hitting a brick wall. This was not a happy situation for us in terms of the logistics of a functioning band.

“To that purpose, we made a decision that we could not go on with him. Majority rules in terms of what we need to do as a band and go forward.”

Buckingham previously left Fleetwood Mac from 1987 to 1996, and was inducted with the band into the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

No reason was given for his recent departure.

The tour kicks off on Oct. 3, in Tulsa, and wraps on April 5, 2019, in Philadelphia.
