Coun­cil im­proves trans­porta­tion

Re: “City lead­ers’ ‘vi­sion’ is ques­tion­able,” let­ter, Sept. 12. When I take my car to down­town Vic­to­ria, I am al­ways happy to see peo­ple also us­ing trans­porta­tion other than au­to­mo­biles, be­cause none of th­ese peo­ple oc­cupy park­ing spots, leav­ing me more of a chance to find one. They also do not block my way at a lineup wait­ing for the next green traf­fic light.

I want to be safe in my car. I also want pedes­tri­ans and bi­cy­cle rid­ers to be safe.

I ex­pect good in­fra­struc­ture for them and for me.

Vic­to­ria Mayor Lisa Helps and the coun­cil have done a good job, more so than pre­vi­ous coun­cils. Bernd Ziruss Saanich
