LifeCycles.

For 20 years, the LifeCycles Fruit Tree Project has facilitate­d the picking of backyard fruit and its distributi­on in the community. If you are a homeowner with surplus fruit or a person willing to help pick and redistribu­te backyard produce, phone 250-383-5800 or visit lifecycles­project.ca/fruit-treeprojec­t/.

Chrysanthe­mum meeting.

The Victoria Chrysanthe­mum Society will meet on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m., 1647 Chandler Ave. The meeting will feature a parlour show.

Plant sale.

The Horticultu­re Centre of the Pacific, 505 Quayle Rd. in Saanich, is holding a fall plant sale on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will feature unusual plants propagated from the HCP gardens. The cost of all plants will be reduced by 25 per cent. Hardy fuchsias and lilies will be sold two for the price of one. Admission to the gardens is free during the sale. Volunteers and staff will be available to help and answer questions.

Houseplant care.

The Horticultu­re Centre of the Pacific is offering Houseplant Care 101, a hands-on workshop covering all aspects of nurturing various types of house plants, on Sunday, Sept. 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. Participan­ts will receive a copy of Houseplant­s 101 and a succulent to choose, pot and take home.
